HC Deb 06 July 1905 vol 148 c1345
MR CULLINAN (Tipperary, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Estates Commissioners have made any efforts to purchase evicted farms or untenanted lands in the county of Tipperary; if so, will he state in how many cases; in how many has the purchase been completed; in how many have the negotiations failed, giving the names of the owners, extent of holding, and the causes which prevented the completion of the purchases.

MR. WALTER LONG

The Commissioners have negotiated for the purchase of six estates in this county. In three cases the negotiations are proceeding; in two the offers made have been refused by vendors; and in one case the purchase has been completed. I do not think it desirable to give particulars of the cases referred to in the last inquiry.
