HC Deb 04 July 1905 vol 148 cc970-1
MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL (Kerry W.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will state when the Congested Districts Board will give grants for the construction and improvement of piers at Smerwick and Ballydavid, places which depend almost entirely on the fishing industry.

(Answered by Mr. Walter Long.) The Board informed the local authorities in August last that they were prepared to contribute a sum not exceeding £200 towards the cost of constructing a pier at Smerwick. No reply has been received. The Board will investigate the requirements of Ballydavid, but they have at present no further funds available for public works.
