HC Deb 03 July 1905 vol 148 c779
DR. MACNAMARA

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Board of Education whether the Board has granted recognition to the municipal secondary school at Derby, accepting the higher education sub-committee of the Derby Education Committee as the board of governors for the school; and, if so, whether the Board now considers that such a scheme of management satisfies Article 16 of the Secondary School Regulations, 1905.

SIR WILLIAM ANSON

In the case referred to the Board were satisfied that the arrangement proposed made adequate provision for the government of the school. It is not considered desirable at the present time to lay down any general rule on the subject; each case will be considered on its merits, having regard to the relations which the sub-committee will have with the local education authority on the one hand and the school staff on the other.
