HC Deb 03 July 1905 vol 148 c773
MAJOR EVANS GORDON (Tower Hamlets, Stepney)

I beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has considered the Report of the Departmental Committee on Income-Tax; and what steps he proposes to take in regard to the recommendations made.

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Mr. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAIN,) Worcestershire, E.

I have not yet had time to consider this important Report, but I shall not in any case propose legislation on the subject this session. The state of public business would make it impossible to deal with so difficult and complicated a question this year.
