HC Deb 16 February 1905 vol 141 c324
MR. SLOAN (Belfast, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that a man named MacAskall was knocked down and kicked at Westport on the 6th ultimo by the Rev. M. MacDonnell, Roman Catholic Administrator, and that the police, whose protection MacAskall was under at the time, were stoned; if any arrests were made; and, if not, will he order that the offenders be prosecuted who are known to the authorities.

MR. WYNDHAM

The occurrences referred to in this Question are the subject of magisterial investigation which, I understand, will take place at Westport Petty Sessions to-day. I am precluded, therefore, from discussing the facts at present.
