HC Deb 10 August 1905 vol 151 c922
MR. WEIR

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that, notwithstanding the escort provided by the Government of Eygpt for the protection of the pilgrims proceeding to Mecca, 300 Eygptian pilgrims were killed and wounded during the return journey; and will he state what further precautions will be taken next year to prevent outrages of this character.

(Answered by Earl Percy.) I understand that this matter is engaging the attention of the Egyptian Government.
