HC Deb 09 August 1905 vol 151 c788
MR. PLATT-HIGGINS (Salford, N.)

To ask the Postmaster-General if he is aware that delay occurs in the awarding of good conduct stripes to officers in the engineering department of the Post Office; and will he say whether, in the case of the death of an officer whose stripe allowance was overdue, the money would be paid to his next-of-kin.

(Answered by Lord Stanley.) I am not aware that delay occurs in the awarding of good conduct stripes to officers of the engineering department; but, if the hon. Member can give me particulars of any case, I will make further inquiries. Any arrears of stripe pay due to an officer at the time of his death would be paid to his legal representative.
