Member for East Mayo, I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will explain why not a single question relating to Ireland appeared in the history papers set by the Board of National Education to the teachers who completed their course of training at the various training colleges, and who were examined in the first week of July this year for certificates of competency to teach Irish children.
§ MR. WALTER LONGThe programme in history for this examination was "European history from 1815 to 1871." The Commissioners do not interfere with the discretion of the examiners in setting questions.
