To ask the hon. Member for Chorley, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether it can be arranged to improve and enlarge the existing staircases leading from the Strangers' Smoke Room and the Terrace to the Lobbies; and can such staircases be covered with carpet or felt instead of the oilcloth they are at present covered with.
