HC Deb 02 August 1905 vol 150 c1347
MR. THEODORE TAYLOR (Lancashire, Radeliffe)

On behalf of the lion. Member for the Otley Division of Yorkshire, I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury if, in consequence of the increase in the number of limited companies since the passing of the Act, 22 Geo. 3, c. 45, s. 1, under which Members of the House of Commons are, as private traders, unable to undertake Government contracts, he will take steps to strike out of the list of Government contractors such companies the undertakings of which prove on investigation to be, substantially, the property of a Member of the House of Commons and his family.

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

The Government do not propose any legislation on this subject.
