HC Deb 01 August 1905 vol 150 cc1175-6
MR. MULDOON (Donegal, N.)

I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether the terms offered for the establishment of a post office exchange at Buncrana are £5 each for twenty-five guaranteed subscribers, and 3d. per message for trunk connection; and, if so, whether, in view of the amount of these terms, he is ready to reconsider them with a view to such modifications as may render them locally acceptable.

LORD STANLEY

The terms are correctly stated by the hon. Member, and I fear that, in view of the cost of establishing a telephone exchange at Buncrana and of connecting it with the trunk system, it will not be possible to modify them. It should be understood, of course, that the charge of £5 covers 480 local conversations.
