HC Deb 01 August 1905 vol 150 cc1157-8
MR. LOUIS SINCLAIR (Essex, Romford)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that supplies of cartridges recently made at Woolwich Arsenal, and sent for use to Aldershot, were found, on account of the size of the bullet, to be useless; that a number of men had to be specially engaged at Aldershot to remove these bullets from the cases; and will he say what stops he proposes to take to save a similar waste of money and time in connection with other consignments.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. Arnold-Forster, Belfast, W.)

The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief reports that no defective ball ammunition has been supplied to Aldershot.
