HC Deb 18 April 1905 vol 145 c430
MR. HARMSWORTH (Caithnessshire)

To ask Mr. Attorney-General if he is aware that, following upon the recent conviction in "Wick Sheriff Court of the flag captain of the foreign trawler "Apollo" of illegal trawling, the flag captain of the trawler "Strome," a vessel registered under a foreign flag, but manned by an English crew, has since then been convicted in the same Court of a similar offence, and that the flag captain, although a foreigner, resides at Grimsby; and whether he can state if any decision has been arrived at yet to prevent a recurrence of these illegalities.

(Answered by Sir Robert Finlay.) I am informed that the captain of the "Strome" was fined £75, and that the fine has been paid. If there is any repetition of the offence he will be liable to fresh proceedings. †See (4) Debates, cxxxii., 966
