HC Deb 18 April 1905 vol 145 c438
MR. FFRENCH (Wexford, S.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether applications from the evicted tenants on the Boxwell and Coolroe Estates for restoration under The Land Purchase Act, 1903, have been received by the Estates Commissioners; and if any progress has been made as regards restoring these tenants to their homes.

(Answered by Mr. Walter Long.) Applications have been received from seventeen evicted tenants from the estate of Mr. P. Boxwell, but the landlord has signified his unwillingness to sell unless all the tenants on his property should agree to purchase. The Coolroe Estate of Mr. T. D. Plaice has been placed before the Commissioners, who have directed an inspection to be made, and the case of two evicted tenants who have applied for reinstatement will at the same time be inquired into.
