HC Deb 12 April 1905 vol 144 c1391
MR. ASHTON (Bedfordshire, Luton)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if Germany and England interpret the most-favoured-nation clause in the same way; and, if not, what is the difference.

(Answered by Earl Percy.) I am not aware of any case in which the German Government has asserted a different view of the meaning of the most-favoured-nation clause from that held by ourselves.
