§ DR. MACNAMARAI beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether he is now in a position to say how far boards of guardians may assist local education authorities in the work of providing food for children in attendance at public elementary schools suffering from want of proper food.
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURI do not think that I can conveniently make a statement on this subject for the moment, but I hope shortly to be in a position to issue a circular to boards of guardians with regard to their powers and duties in relation to underfed children.
