§ SIR CHARLES CAYZER (Barrow-in-Furness)To ask the Secretary to the Board of Trade whether he will state the number of British sailors employed on board British ships each year from 1897 to 1903 or 1904, inclusive, and also the number of foreign sailors employed on board British ships for the same period.
(Answered by Mr. Bonar Law.) The figures asked for by my hon. friend are given for each year from 1897 to 1903 at page 74 of "Tables showing the progress of British Merchant Shipping," Parliamentary Paper 294. The figures for 1904 are not yet available.
