Member for Chorley, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he is aware of the difficulty Members of this House frequently find in procuring seats in the smoking-room; and whether he could see his way to recommend some improvement in the accommodation now provided.
§ LORD BALCARRES (Lancashire, Chorley)The First Commissioner is quite aware of the limited accommodation at the House for hon. Members wishing to smoke, and much regrets that more space is not available. Additional chairs have lately been provided; but there seems no way at present of finding extra room.
MR. GIBSON BOWLES (Lynn Regis)Will the noble Lord represent to the First Commissioner the desirability of utilising one of the rooms of the Library?
