§ MR. LUNDONI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland, is he aware that negotiations have been in progress for sale to the tenants of 325 the estate of Miss K. J. Burton, situate near Mungret, county Limerick; that a tenant named Michael M'Mahon was some years since evicted off this estate; and that in February last this man, before he could make arrangement for getting back into his holding, made inquiries of the Estates Commissioners as to whether, in case of reinstatement, they could make him a grant to restock his farm; and, if so, will he explain why the Estates Commissioners refuse to make any grant, as the whole estate is about being sold out.
§ MR. WALTER LONGThe Commissioners ascertained from the owner that she was unwilling to sell this particular holding unless the tenants generally should agree to purchase. The question of a grant to an evicted tenant will be considered when the estate upon which he is to be reinstated comes before the Commissioners.
