HC Deb 04 April 1905 vol 144 c329
SIR EDWARD STRACHEY

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury if he can state when the Second Reading of the Agricultural Rates Act, 1896, etc., Continuance Bill will be taken.

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

I am very anxious to pass the Second Reading of this Bill before the Easter holidays, but no pledge can be given as regards the time until I see what Parliamentary time will be expended on other matters that must be dealt with.

SIR EDWARD STRACHEY

Will public notice be given before the Bill is introduced.

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

I hope it will be taken as sufficient notice if I say that if I possibly can I intend to read this Bill a second time before Easter.
