HC Deb 03 April 1905 vol 144 cc124-5
MR. HERBERT ROBERTS

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether the Government of Bombay has received memorials in favour of the prohibition by law of the sale of intoxicating liquors to children under fourteen years of age; and whether he can state the views of the Bombay Government upon this subject.

MR. BRODRICK

I have ascertained that the Government of Bombay have decided to introduce a clause in future licences prohibiting the sale of liquor to persons under fourteen years of age.
