HC Deb 19 May 1904 vol 135 c355
MR. CROOKS

To ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether his attention has been called to the fact that the Public Works Loan Commissioners refuse to grant loans for a period beyond fifty years, notwithstanding the Housing Act of 1903 extended the period of repayment from sixty to eighty years; and, if so, will he endeavour to amend the Act or issue an Order to enable the Commissioners to extend the period of repayment.

(Answered by Mr. Austen Chamberlain.) I am not prepared to propose legislation for extending the maximum period for repayment of loans by the Public Works Loan Commissioners.
