§ MR. CROOKSTo ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether his attention has been called to the fact that the Public Works Loan Commissioners refuse to grant loans for a period beyond fifty years, notwithstanding the Housing Act of 1903 extended the period of repayment from sixty to eighty years; and, if so, will he endeavour to amend the Act or issue an Order to enable the Commissioners to extend the period of repayment.
(Answered by Mr. Austen Chamberlain.) I am not prepared to propose legislation for extending the maximum period for repayment of loans by the Public Works Loan Commissioners.
