MR. PATRICK O'BRIEN (Kilkenny)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if the office of the Public Trustee has been formally opened yet; and, if so, what appointments have been made in it, with the qualifications of the persons so appointed; and, if no such appointments nave yet been made, is it his intention to allow the Public Trustee to select applicants of ability and experience, and with special technical knowledge of the requirements of such a department.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) The office of the Public Trustee has been opened at No. 12, Upper Merrion Street. He is assisted by a gentleman who has had considerable official experience.
