HC Deb 19 May 1904 vol 135 c350
MR. JACOBY (Derbyshire, Mid.)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the attention of His Majesty's Government has been called to the expediency of establishing a Consular Court in the interests of British subjects resident in the Congo State; and, if so, whether they will take steps to carry out the proposal.

(Answered by Earl Percy.) The question of the adequacy of existing safeguards for the protection of British interests in the Congo is receiving the careful consideration of His Majesty's Government.
