To ask the Postmaster-General whether he is aware of the constant delays in transmitting telephone messages between London and Brighton; and whether he will take steps to arrange for a more efficient service.

The telephone traffic between London and Brighton is subject, occasionally, to delay owing to some exceptional difficulties in the maintenance of the lines as well as to the amount of the traffic Steps are being taken to provide additional lines, which will, I hope, prevent these delays.
