HC Deb 12 May 1904 vol 134 cc1183-4
MR. MURPHY

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that there is a shipbuilding yard in the city of Derry; and that, owing to absence of work, the yard is of little value to the locality; and, if so, whether he can see his way to recommend the Navy Department to distribute a reasonable share of work to Derry in future.

MR. PRETYMAN

The existence and facilities of this firm are known, and have been noted at the Admiralty in the event of repairs within their capacity being required to vessels in that locality. Any application that they may send to tender for such work will be favourably considered.
