HC Deb 03 May 1904 vol 134 c265
MR. TREVELYAN

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he will take steps to amend the Standing Orders so as to secure that Bills introduced by private Members which have passed their Second Reading shall be sent, without further debate or division, to such Committee as the Speaker or Chairman of Committees shall select.

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

No, Sir, I do not think I can make myself responsible for such a change in Standing Orders as the hon. Member suggests.
