HC Deb 02 May 1904 vol 134 c110
MR. WILLIAM REDMOND

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether it is intended to occupy any portion of Somaliland by a military force; and, if so, for how long, and what the extent and cost of the force is to be.

Earl PERCY

The question of the numerical strength of the force which it will be necessary to maintain in the protectorate after the withdrawal of the expedition is under the consideration of His Majesty's Government, and no announcement of their decision can at present be made.
