§ MR. LAMBERT (Devonshire, South Molton)I beg to ask Mr. Attorney-General if any explanations have been demanded of Mr. H. Brougham, Official Receiver, who reported on the 16th January, 1899, that Mr. E. T. Hooley had been guilty of fraud, and of which the Director of Public Prosecutions could not obtain the necessary evidence.
§ SIR ROBERT FINLAYI am informed that in the inquiries which were made with the view of a prosecution in the matter on which Mr. Brougham had reported, the Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecutions ware in constant communication with Mr. Brougham and obtained all necessary information from him as to the facts and evidence upon which he had made his report.
