HC Deb 22 March 1904 vol 132 c394
MR. WEIR

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland, in view of the suggestions of the local committee relative to the recommendations contained in the Report on the social condition of the Island of Lewis, will he say whether he has yet decided on the course of action which he proposes to take so soon as the Congested Districts Amendment Bill has passed; and will he state whether the Second Reading of the Bill will betaken before Easter.

THE SECRETARY FOR SCOTLAND (Mr. A. GRAHAM MURRAY,) Buteshire

I cannot formulate in advance any course of action on the assumption that the Bill referred to by the hon. Member will pass into law. I am afraid the state of business is such as to make it improbable that the Second Reading can be taken before Easter.
