HC Deb 22 March 1904 vol 132 c384
MR. CHARLES McARTHUR

To ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he will state the annual cost of maintaining the fog siren at the Nash and the reed horn signal at Penlee Point respectively, exclusive of wages.

(Answered by Mr. Gerald Balfour.) I am informed that the Nash fog signal was only established in December last, and the annual cost of maintenance must of course depend on the number of hours of fog experienced. This cost is estimated at about £86. The annual expenditure on the Penlee Point fog signal for the twelve months ended 30th September last was £108.
