SIR JOHNCOLOMB (Great Yarmouth)

To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the amount of expenditure sanctioned for naval and military officers respectively employed specially to observe and report upon operations of War now proceeding in the Far East.

(Answered by Mr. Victor Cavendish.) The expenditure sanctioned for this purpose amounts to £7,424 per annum. This is in addition to the cost (about £1,600 per annum) of four officers previously attached to the Japanese Army under existing regulations.
