To ask the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the conditions under which the concession for the Shanghai to Nanking Railway was extended to the British and Chinese Corporation have been fulfilled, the work begun, and the capital provided.

(Answered by Earl Percy.) The British and Chinese Corporation are at present discussing with the Chinese Board of Commissioners the necessary arrangements with a view to the flotation of the loan and the commencement of contruction.
