To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will state how many vessels registered in the United Kingdom are fitted for the carriage of grain in accordance with Board of Trade regulations.

(Answered by Mr. Gerald Balfour.) There are at present 1,051 vessels on the British register for which plans of grain loading have been approved by the Board of Trade under Section 453 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894.
