LAMBERT (Devonshire, South Molton)To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland what has been the highest and lowest prices in years purchase of first and second-term rents respectively sanctioned for the purchase of Irish land, under the new Land Act; also the average number of years' purchase sanctioned for first and second-term rents respectively.
(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) Under Section 23 (14) of the Act of 1903 periodical reports of the proceedings of the Estates Commissioners will be laid before Parliament. The form of the report and the date of its publication must be determined in consultation with the Treasury. I am considering the question of publishing an interim Return containing information on the matters referred to.
