HC Deb 09 March 1904 vol 131 c556
MR. WEIR

To ask the Secretary for Scotland if he will state how many foreign trawlers have been observed fishing in the Moray Firth during the year ending 31st December, 1903, and their respective nationalities.

(Answered by Mr. A. Graham Murray.) During the year 1903, foreign trawlers have been observed fishing in the Moray Firth upon 195 occasions, on 170 of these occasions the boat was of Scandinavian and the remainder, I believe, were all of I Belgian, nationality. The hon. Member will remember the numbers given are of I occasions on which boats have been observed, and are no index to the actual number of different boats engaged in fishing the Moray Firth.
