HC Deb 08 March 1904 vol 131 c450
CAPTAIN NORTON (Newington, W.)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been called to a refusal of the Newington licensing magistrates of a licence to the proprietor of The Royal Standard, Royal Road, West Newington, unless he discontinued the debating society held in his club-room on Sunday evenings; and, if so, will he introduce a clause in the forthcoming Licensing Bill to deal with such cases.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Akers Douglas.) I have no information as to the facts of this case, nor am I prepared to make any statement with regard to the Licensing Bill.
