§ MR. BLACK (Banffshire)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies what course the Government is to pursue with reference to children of Chinese or mixed white and black and Chinese parentage born in the Transvaal; are they to be allowed to remain in South Africa, or are they to be sent to China; and, can he form any estimate as to the probable number of such children per thousand of the adult male Chinese introduced.
§ *MR. LYTTELTONIn answer to the first and second Questions I do not anticipate that under the conditions proposed children of mixed parentage will be born. As to the third I am quite unable to follow the hon. Member into 299 the bewildering speculation suggested by his imagination.
