§ MR. BOLANDI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is now in a position to state what action it is proposed to take with reference to the National Library and its staff, in view of the fact that the Departmental Committee appointed to inquire into this matter has presented its Report.
§ MR. WYNDHAMThe scales of salary of the librarian and his first assistant have been improved; an additional assistant will be appointed; the pay of the attendants has been improved and their number will be increased from twelve to twenty. The arrangements for cataloguing the books are still under consideration.
