HC Deb 30 June 1904 vol 137 c148
MR. SULLIVAN (Westmeath, S.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether any members of the Royal Irish Constabulary stationed at Ballinagore, county Westmeath, are engaged in herding cattle on an evicted farm in that locality; and, if so, whether they are acting in obedience to the directions of their superior officer.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) The police do not act as herds at Ballinagore. They do, however, afford protection to a herd employed on an evicted holding there and to the cattle under his charge.
