HC Deb 28 June 1904 vol 136 cc1415-6
MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the national school in which Mr. Denis Lavelle, Rathview, Dundalk, teaches, was built by himself at a cost of £350; and that he was not refunded any of this when he was compelled to assign his interest to trustees; and if so, whether special inquiry will be made into this matter.

MR. WYNDHAM

I have made special inquiry into this matter and am satisfied that the teacher has no case against the Commissioners of National Education. An explanation of the facts calls for a somewhat lengthy statement, and with the hon. Member's permission I will circulate this statement with the Votes.
