HC Deb 28 June 1904 vol 136 c1412
MR. MACVEAGH (Down, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state the number of inspectors-general, county inspectors, district inspectors, and resident magistrates in Ireland; and whether, in the effecting of economies in police administration in Ireland, it is intended to reduce their numbers simultaneously with the reducing of the numbers in the lower ranks.

MR. WYNDHAM

The extent to which economies have been effected is shown in the current year's Estimates, which also show the number of each class of officer mentioned. Further reductions are contemplated in future years.
