HC Deb 27 June 1904 vol 136 c1221
MR. GILHOOLY (Cork County, W.)

To ask the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that the mails for Schull, county Cork, arriving at Skibbereen at 2.15 p.m., are not delivered at Schull until the next morning, though a train leaves Skibbereen at 6.30 p.m. by which they could be conveyed; and, if so, whether, in view of the importance of Schull as a fishing station, he will arrange for an evening postal delivery there.

(Answered by Lord Stanley.) I am aware that there is no day mail service to Schull. When the question of improving the service was last considered it was found that additional expense for the purpose would not be warranted, but I will have fresh inquiry made with a view of ascertaining whether there has been any change in the circumstances, and I will acquaint the hon. Member with the result.
