§ COLONEL WYNDHAM MURRAY (Bath)To ask the Secretary of State for War what progress has been made in the supply of standard military books of reference and history to military station messes; and whether, in order to reduce the expenses of officers, the War Office will provide a small military library in all such establishments.

Before embarking on the general expenditure involved in such a scheme it was decided to start four libraries in officers' messes for the four infantry regiments quartered at Bordon. These libraries have been duly supplied with books, and a report on the working of the scheme will be furnished in the course of the year by the General Officer Commanding.
