HC Deb 23 June 1904 vol 136 c1007
MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that Lord Ventry refuses to allow the Kerry Council and the Agricultural Department to construct a pier at Minard, which is urgently needed by the fishermen of the district; and, if so, will he state what steps he proposes to take in the matter.

MR. WYNDHAM

The Department promised to make a contribution towards the cost of erection of a slip at this place, but it has no information of Lord Ventry's alleged action in the matter.

MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL

As Lord Ventry has refused, will the right hon. Gentleman take any further action?

ME. WYNDHAM

Neither I nor any one in this House has any power to order persons to part with their property if they do not wish to.
