§ MR. HENNIKER HEATON (Canterbury)To ask the Postmaster-General 689 what is the date of the despatch to the Postmaster-General of Australia making proposals for extending penny postage to the Commonwealth; and whether any reply to the despatch has been received by telegraph.
(Answered by Lord Stanley.) The proposals which I had communicated to the Colonial Office for transmission to the Commonwealth Government have not, I understand, yet actually been sent forward to that Government.
