HC Deb 16 June 1904 vol 136 c273
MR. GILHOOLY (Cork County, W.)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he is aware that some years ago the Government refused the use of His Majesty's gunboats for carrying out?evictions in the Island of Skye; and whether that rule will be also adhered to in Ireland.

THE CIVIL LORD OF THE ADMIRALTY (Mr. ARTHUR LEE,) Hampshire, Fareham

There is no record at the Admiralty of the circumstances referred to. If the hon. Member will be good enough to inform me of the date on which this happened I will cause further inquiry to be made.

MR. GILHOOLY

Will gunboats be used to carry out evictions in Ireland?
