HC Deb 14 June 1904 vol 136 c28
MR. D. A. THOMAS (Merthyr Tydvil)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury what steps the Government propose to take in order to give effect to the recommendations contained in the Report of the Committee appointed to consider the position and duties of the Board of Trade and of the Local Government Board and particularly the recommendation in favour of substituting a Minister of Commerce and Industries for the present Board of Trade.

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

I believe the Report of the Committee will not be in the hands of hon. Members until this afternoon or to-morrow. The matter is under consideration by the Government, and I can give no pledge as to the course we shall pursue in reference to the recommendations of the Committee.
