HC Deb 13 June 1904 vol 135 c1486
MR. WHITLEY (Halifax)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies if an advance party of Chinese immigrants has already arrived in Durban for the Transvaal mines; and, if so, whether they are correctly described as overseers to be employed in directing the work of the coolies now on passage to South Africa.

MR. LYTTELTON

I have received no information as to this supposed party of immigrants.
