HC Deb 10 June 1904 vol 135 c1371
MR. EDWARD MITCHELL (Fermanagh, N.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether paid officials of district or county councils in Ireland may, without violation of the official regulations, take part in political meetings.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) The Local Government Board is of opinion that officers of county and rural district councils should refrain from publicly identifying themselves with any political Party. The Board has always advised officials to this effect whenever its opinion has been sought.
